We are accepting submissions for future issues of The Crow!
Submission Guidelines
- Submissions can be News of Interest (includes news or reviews of Double Reed Events), Review Requests (including albums, scores, books, etc.), and Articles (including pedagogical, research-based, or interviews).
- There is currently no length limitation, though we may request or suggest cuts.
- Research and analysis-based articles should be the author's own original work, and present fresh perspectives on topics of pertinence to the Regional Chapter's membership.
- Articles can be published from other publications, but we must have permission in writing from the original publication that the author has the right to republish.
- The preferred file format is .doc or .docx
- All quoted material should be documented in endnotes. Citations should follow the "Notes" portion of the Chicago Manual of Style (NOT the author-date system). For examples, and the basics of the style refer to the Chicago Manual of Style website.
- For matters of usage and style specific to music, authors are directed to D. Kern Holman's Writing about Music: A Style Sheet 3rd edition. (University of California Press, 2014)
- The editors reserve the right to edit all articles for style, content, or space requirements.
- For questions please email [email protected].
Republishing Guidelines
- The IDRS Midsouth Regional Chapter is happy to grant authors permission to republish their articles elsewhere, though it must indicate that it was first published in The Crow Magazine, along with the issue number.
